I’ve been ‘pants’ about uptdating my blog (a very British expression), but I have been busy. I’ve been away from London for a week to Tunisia, my first time in Africa, and this last week I’ve been flat-hunting, which is one of the most exhausting things I’ve done in a long while. It’s amazing how much time and energy is required by it.
My effort paid off, and I’ve found a wonderful flatshare with two other people who I think I’ll get along great with, in a new house in Tower Hill. It has an en-suite bathroom, and is close to the tube, Waitrose (better than Whole Foods), a gym, and places I often work – all this at a great price.
I move tomorrow. I feel so domesticated, like I want to go out and buy those awful stackable plastic boxes that people get to organize themselves (don’t worry, I won’t).
After months, nay, years, of being either homeless or living in an area I didn’t want to be in (apologies to the suburbs of NJ), I finally have my own place in a world city. Barcelona was similar, in many ways, but if you don’t speak the language, it’s hard to really call it home.
I’ll try to post some of my more recent adventures in the next few days, including Tunisia.
I didn’t know that you went to Tunisia. You didn’t tell me! I travelled to Tunisia several years ago for three weeks and really enjoyed myself. Where did you go? And why?
yeah, looking for flat is really hard.. let me know about Tunisia, cause i plan to travel there soon.. will follow your blog..
